To support a growing presence in North Texas, Amazon expanded its regional office in Dallas by leasing an additional 88,000 square feet of space. The build-out of this new office space called for polished concrete floors on both the fifth floor and the 22nd floor.
Two pours took place on two different days—one for each floor—for a total of 10,000 square feet (700 bags of TRU PC were used). The contractor first applied TXP Epoxy Primer to the substrate to prevent pinholes and create a strong adhesive grip for the topping. Workers applied the primer by squeegee and then back-rolled to achieve a uniform thickness of 12 mils (0.3 mm).
Next, the crew mixed TRU PC via Hippo mixers, placed it at 3/8-inch thick and finished with a TRU PC Spiked Roller to release any trapped air and provide a smooth, level surface. Each 50-pound bag covered 15 to 16 square feet. They polished up to 1,500 grit for a high-sheen finish.
