As a highly qualified Technical & Content Writer, you’ll have the opportunity to develop content that is aligned with company directives and marketing campaigns. Our ideal candidate has proven writing experience in a technical field, preferably concrete construction or engineering, and the ability to explain complex information in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.

This full-time position reports to the Vice President of Marketing and is based at the corporate office in Garden Grove, CA.

Responsibilities Include:

In the first 30 days, thoroughly assess CTS’ current content, determine needs, and recommend new content to address gaps in current content.

In the first 60 days, gain a good understanding of CTS’ Rapid Set Cement and Komponent Shrinkage-Compensating Cement Technologies.

Technical Writing

  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with other departments to understand project requirements.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write case studies, project profiles, articles, technical documents, learning/training modules and video scripts.
  • Develop and repurpose content in different media formats to maximize use, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all formats.
  • Write captions and content for social media posts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology.

Content Writing

  • Conduct in-depth research on industry-related topics for developing original content.
  • Develop, write, and update content for websites, blog, newsletters, articles, and more.
  • Conduct keyword research and use SEO best practices to increase traffic to CTS’ website.
  • Create compelling headlines and body copy that will speak the language of the construction professionals and DIYers.
  • Assist in developing content for marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities also include editing and polishing existing content to improve readability, proofreading content for errors and inconsistencies, pitching content to industry publications and sites for publishing, and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Needed:

To be successful in this position, you’ll be a fast learner who understands and retains complex and technical information. You’ll manage multiple projects simultaneously, know how to prioritize, and have strong problem-solving skills. You’ll have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to complete projects and assignments on time.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, detail oriented, a team player, flexible, adaptable to change, and open to constructive feedback.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as an effective technical & content writer in the cement, concrete, or construction industry.
  • Impeccable grammar and excellent English writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and interview subject matter experts effectively.
  • Proven track record of producing pieces that increase engagement and drive leads.
  • Experience writing for the DIY audience a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    Salary and Benefits Package:

    The salary range is $70k-$85K annually and a comprehensive benefits package is available. Benefits include paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, dental insurance, ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) and 401(k).
