GARDEN GROVE, Calif. – CTS Cement Manufacturing Corp., manufacturer of Rapid Set® professional-grade cement products, introduces Rapid Set® LevelFlor® – an easy-to-use (just add water) self-leveling underlayment that can be used to quickly relevel and replace old carpet, tile, hardwood, and epoxy floors. It’s also often used to prepare for installation of our TRU® self-leveling, salt-and-pepper, and polished concrete architectural floor toppings.
Made with Rapid Set® calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) cement that achieves 3000 psi (20.7 MPa) compressive strength in 24 hours, LevelFlor increases contractor profitability by increasing productivity. Curing isn’t required under normal conditions. Although crews can walk on LevelFlor in two to four hours, the material isn’t intended to be a final wearing surface. Moisture-sensitive flooring can be placed after 16 hours; moisture-insensitive flooring can be placed in six hours. (Here’s a datasheet for more details.)
Unlike many other self-leveling underlayments, LevelFlor can be used on interior and exterior applications. The material fills low spots from featheredge to 2 inches neat and levels elevation disparities up to 5 inches when extended with pea gravel. It contains no harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
“Our CSA cement technology provides the high strength, low shrinkage, and long-term durability that Rapid Set® customers have come to expect,” says Vice President of Product Development Matt Sambol. “Its high-flow properties make LevelFlor easy to place, and the fast hydration allows moisture-insensitive floor toppings to be placed the same day.”
Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer should be applied to prepared substrate to ensure maximum adhesion between the substrate and LevelFlor.
LevelFlor is available in 50-pound bags at building materials dealers and supply yards nationwide.
